Generally a bad thing (tm) especially if the inputs are on the rear it will become a real PITA to manage. For the cost of space nowadays, it really shouldn't make that much of a difference
I know when I used to manage the Opal Data Centres that I didn't allow this, but then we were more into doing managed facilities as opposed to letting people run free
