Can 2 computers using 2 modems access an ADSL signal on a phone line at the same time (like a network), or would they only be able to log on one at a time, (like a telephone)?

Many thanks

You can only use an ADSL connection with the one modem.

To access the internet with both PC's you would need to set them up to "network" between each other (Internet Connection Sharing) but this would require a network card for each PC, to access the internet this way you would need the PC connected to the ADSL modem to be switched on whenever you want to use the other one for internet

Alternatively you would still need 2 network cards but you could get an ADSL modem router instead of just an ADSL modem, this would have the advantage of letting you access the internet from either PC without the other needing to be switched on
