Just got my new 13" MacBook Pro - it's a very nice machine compared to the plastic MacBook that it replaces (dropped it while at the datacentre on Monday and the screen cracked ) very solid and a very nice screen

Nice! I'm very tempted by the 17" MBP to replace my old pre-unibody 17" MBP

The new 17" is very nice
The old white polycarbonate is still around, it's the only MacBook, still limping along.

Will be ordering a pair of 15" MBPs with the SSD drive as soon as I get my Developer account sorted out. As I'm "technically" still a student I can avail of a business account and the student dev discount, which is nice They won't do the full edu discount and free iPod though

Find out which discount level is higher, and then use that
More often than not, HE Edu discount is much higher, so phone up the Apple Store and order with that...

I just bug them until I get a unit

Oh to be a student still!

Though I suppose claiming the VAT back might be harder with the Name as Mr S.T.Udent and getting the Discount might be hard as Mr Company Ltd

Not quite - I get the Apple Developer Connection discount (not sure what that is yet, much less than the edu discount probably), but was able to buy the ADC membership at the student price. I don't think the taxman would take kindly to buying a laptop through the edu store then claiming it was for business use!

Theory is that the ex. VAT business price is less than the inc. VAT edu price, and I'll try and wrangle an Applecare discount too....

2 week shipping time for the SSDs

James...how's the 13" for multitasking? I've always had a 15" and found it just about right, but did consider the 13" model....

Still using my original Intel Core Duo 15" MBP. Doesn't get used for much though, more as an RDP terminal to my office PC over the VPN.

Got my Aluminum macbook around December time and love it (beats down Dell Inspiron I used to use) - doesn't have a backlit keyboard though.

I've got Marco polo running on it, so if it detects i'm in the 'office', (detects network / wifi and connected phericals), it automatically mounts the network shares / reconfigures entourage - and remote desktops onto the PC under my desk on one of my monitors.

I did buy the new mac mini to operate as a media centre. Using Plex, the optical out and a DVI -> HDMI cable it does an OK job. Remote controlled via either the iphone, logitech harmony remote or via 'teleport' for remote mouse/ keyboard via the imac.

I've always been tempted to get a mac, not sure if I'd stick with OSX though.

I might look into getting one again

    Was just saying Hellloooo...

    Neh, OS X... *shrug*
I'd install something else if I did need the platform for all the Apps and testing etc.
