It costs £35 to notify the ICO. Is it worth risking not doing so?

You can hold any information about them without notifying provided it is for your personal use.

For business you might be able to hold their first name without notifying.

i registered the same day i went limited just to be on the safe side covers my CCTV too it's worth it in the long run £35 is nothing .. getting sued is worse !
