Affiliate schemes in the UK?
Chaps - I am not in the hosting arena anymore after selling up but still get people coming to me asking for hosting etc.
I have an arrangement with the guy I sold to for sending people asking for a specific service.
However, if I am pointing people to hosting I thought I might as well make a couple of quid for the lead so started looking about for affiliate schemes provided by decent hosts.
I have signed up with a couple of US places that I have used before but trying to find some decent hosts in the UK with affiliate schemes is like a needle in the haystack (unlike US hosts who are affiliate mad!)
So far I have found 2 (including the guy I sold to!) so do any of you run affiliate schemes?
Looking for the full range from shared, reseller, vps and dedi servers and all in between.
Any ideas, please give me a shout!
Cheers

yes, for domains, hosting, email services, reseller accounts, secure/ssl certificates and hosting, adsl/sdsl,adsl2+ and VPS/dedicated servers
we also have a couple of "externals" who fill the gaps in their portfolio by offering our products, we treat those as "affiliates" even without all the cookies / online processing etc for management reasons.
although due to some interesting "issues" with the software we were using (idevaffiliate) we're rewriting the backend of the system to allow for better tracking at the moment for relaunch in November ...

Why is it all the hosting schemes are so tight, i was under the impression shared hosting was very profitable, yet theres no real incentive to promote a hosts packages.
10% recurring isn't the worst i've seen, but there are a lot which offer 2.5-10% on just the first months money for example, is it even worth them setting the program up?
Id imagine if a host offered 75% recurring for the first year, then 0% ongoing they may get a lot of people promoting for them And make their money back on the renewals.

We're working on a new affiliate system that should be very nice for marketers.
But at the moment we offer 33.3% recurring on shared hosting products.

Chris, Leigh & Darren.
HAd a look at your sites but cannot find the affiliate sign up form, although its early and I am probably still half asleep!
As for the %, if you look at some of the US hosts they offer $100 a sign up but thats a one off, so it you look at say 10% every month its not far off the same. Only real difference is the cash trickles in instead of one big wad at the start!
Cheers again!

we've tried both upfront larger amounts and ongoing %ages - the "quality" of the signups when you pay an upfront amount was dire - we did find a lot of "directories" suddenly promoting it and a lot more affiliate system traffic though.
with the new system we'll be offering 20% on shared hosting and £1 on domains

Our affiliate scheme isn't particularly advertised yet (hence the reason why you've not found it on the site) - but, if you sign up to the billing system, the option is in the user panel.

Since we're using ordinary WHMCS at the moment, the option is in the billing area ( Tsohost - Support) which you can sign-up to without ordering anything. We took down the affiliate page actively promoting our old system as we want to encourage people to use our exciting new system when it launches, but you're more than welcome to register an account and get some sales now.

I can give you an affiliate link for a good web hosting company who pay on a monthly basis.
You can earn 10%, you get your own FREE reseller store and you can make the prices, providing that they are not too low.
You can make them high and track your profits, your traffic, ect.
PM me for the link and i shall send it to you, or visit our company and click on the link...
Best regards,
Mike
