    Berkshire based DataCenter wanted

As per the title, we are looking for a Berkshire based Data center to buy a 1/4 rack from with room to expand if required.

We have locations around Europe however we need something local for certain services.

I am aware of the following Data Centers but I am looking for other options:

    Dedipower
    Everest DC
    Blue Square Data

If you know of any others around Berkshire please let me know. I MAY stretch to London if needbe, however I would rather stay west of London for ease of access via car.

    Regards,

Dedipower and Bluesquare are the same people now, they have renamed themselves Pulsant. You also have Amatis Networks, The Bunker and a couple of Equinix sites also.

Sorry, yes you are correct, I am going old school, Ok we can rule both Pulsant's Reading & Maidenhead locations out

I found The Bunker, but the idea of it kind of put me off...

Equinix, do you know their location? I thought they was London based?

I just checked and they do have Slough locations, this could certainly work for us.

Equinix have two big data centres in Slough (LD4 and LD5) that are very well connected. Good infrastructure, but expect to pay for it. You are also unlikely to get a 1/4 rack direct from them.

We used to have racks at Pulsant Maidenhead and moved out in 2012 for a variety of reasons. Things have gone downhill a lot from when it was BlueSquare Data.

Dedipower is now owned and run by Pulsant.

Everest is a new facility in Reading with an impressive spec and they seem to be getting quite a lot of business with significant areas already full. They've got dark fibre back to Equinix LD4/LD5 and Telehouse North/East in the docklands which they provide layer 2 services, IP transit and wavelengths on. I know that they will sell 1/4 racks at a push.

Last time I spoke to The Bunker, connectivity options were limited and expensive. The space+power wasn't exactly cheap either.

There are a few other smaller data centres along the M4 corridor.

    Thanks Ed,

The costs are not so much the issue here, what is the issue is finding a good quality network for high bandwidth streaming. I am not interested in the three in my list for various reasons, Dedipower & Blue sqaure because they are Pulsant, I used their network previously and it just could not handle high quality streaming. I tried to work with them however they insisted it was our configuration and not their network. Even though we run the same configuration throughout our infrastructure and only Blue Square was giving the issues. With regards to Everest DC, I am sure they are good however I know they are new, and I need somewhere that has a long term reputation, that is nothing against Everest DC, I actually worked for Ed back in 2007.

Could you list some of the other DC along the M4? I am based next to the M4 myself so its easy to jump on.

    Thanks again for your input.

    Regards,

They only offer full racks anyway, as per my request I am looking for a 1/4 rack.
