I was just wondering if it is at all possible to colocate a server running Windows XP and access it using the standard remote desktop feature of Windows XP?
Thanks

It is but you shouldn't - invest in a copy of 2003 Standard .

Out of interest, what happens if you do?
A GSP that deliberately lied and badmouthed us on a public forum thread, released some funny images on their website this week with one of their servers hooked up to a monitor....XP loading screen
It's well know they run and sell their game servers off XP.
What would happen if Microsoft found out?

I don't want to use it for any kind of web hosting services. I just want to colocate a 1U box running XP (or 2003 Standard if need be) to access via Windows remote desktop and use it like a normal PC as if it were right here on my desk.
We have a client who colo'd their desktop machine with XP on it, so that they could RDP into something running MSOffice while away on business - its much quicker to view a screen of a 400 page daily generated document over 3g than actually download it

So once I've had my box running XP colocated, all I'll need to do to access it is to type the IP address allocated by the host and my username and password that I pre-set on the server into the Remote Desktop Connection wizard on my home PC?
