For those of you who don't trade in $

    See below

    For other currency try
    http://finance.yahoo.com/m3?u

For us UK visitors see below

    1$ = 0.70 GBP
    2$ = 1.41 GBP
    3$ = 2.11 GBP
    4$ = 2.81 GBP
    5$ = 3.51 GBP

This is a UK / European forum, so I think you should at least list the eqivalent prices, not just US Dollars all the time...

You've not got the price we pay on there, but I'm not about to tell customers how much we pay for it either on here, lets just say it's in the middle of two of the options.

Anyone paying $1 per Gb or less, I would ask yourself how good the quality of the bandwidth is and the network its running on and anyone over $5 I'd be asking is it really worth it?

Normally I would but did you know that over 70% of UK hosting business expenses are you US dollars and over 40% of UK hosts charge in US dollars.

but we are hoping not just hosts look at this.

A lot of potential UK customers don't want the hassle of $ prices, they want to know exactly how much in £ is coming out of their bank account.

One of the main reason UK hosts use $ is because they have to because most US providers like paypal, dotster and others don't have the flexibility to allow multi-currency billing and the current choice of UK companies being able to provide the same services at the same cost means we don't have an alternative

I guess it is just hard for me to put in UK currency. I have to go from Can dollars to US dollars to UK dollars. Also I don't have the little UK pound sign thing

That is a bad statement, I would certainly never pay $1 per GByte for even the best network, and as a result i do not and neither do any of our customers.

Some of the best networks only charge £0.50 per GByte and less. The key is to not be tricked by expensive hosts claiming their networks are better than the cheaper ones. Some cheap host are indeed bad, but many are the very best in the UK.

And many claim to use some providers as their primary, when in fact they're using a much cheaper one for all but routes from inside said "primary" providers network. Can easily be checked by doing traceroutes from multiple locations Always pays to check.
