Has anyone any experiance of running 146GB 15k SAS drives in a G5 HP DL380?
My HP reseller is saying they are incompatible according to HP but are quite happy to sell me some 300GB ones.

Hey what. I've got a couple of G5 DL380s full of 146GB 15K SAS drives.

The site even says :

Up to 8:
Hot plug SFF SAS 10K 36/72/146GB;
Hot plug SFF SAS 15K 36/72/146GB;
Hot plug SFF SATA 5.4K 60/120/250GB

Where does it say that?

I did look but I can only see it say 8*146 but no mention of speed.

That would be splendid if its even quoted on the HP site...

146G is only 10k in SFF SAS

Only 72G available in 15k for SFF SAS

I'm sure the two i've got are 15k drives. They certainly were specced as such and I remember pushing for it as they are for iSCSI targets so speed was a priority.

Cant get anything from the server here but would be surprised if they aren't, and probably angry cos they should be 15k

15k 146 2.5" should be out Dec i've been told

Yep, everything we've ever been told is that at present the SFF disks only go up to 72G in 15k.

We're waiting for 300G 10k, soon! :-)
