    Question Managed Servers

    Hi,

    I'm looking at taking out a managed server to host a number of websites for clients. I run a small web design company and we currently have a reseller account.

    I'd like to stick with the same control panel, currently HELM but our bandwidth costs on the reseller package are getting silly as we keep bolding in the 10GB extra blocks.

    What kind of options are available for management? Is it possible to get dedicated boxes with HELM installed and the host manages everything and just leaves us with a front end?

    Ken: you can get as much management as you need, basically. It's certainly possible to have a dedicated server where you only need be concerned with using your control panel and not with the server itself at all.

    With a dedicated server its exactly that - dedicated to you.

    You can have whatever control panel your like.
    Have a look here or post a request, you'll get lots of people offering you service.

    we have clients who want us to do everything barr them setting up accounts and taking the orders! However - helm is expensive to license so dont look for cheap as chips!

    I'm not looking for cheap as chips I’m looking for a quality service.

    The control panel has to be HELM as we're hosting 43 websites on it presently for 35 customers and I'd hate to have to teach them a new control panel.

    Even if we had to spend 10-15% of our profit on a server alone it still makes it commercially viable if we can keep the quality of service up. The only problem I have is we'd need assistance trying to move clients to a new HELM control panel. How would I migrate everything easily?

    I may want some custom apps and components on the server which the current provider can't accomodate in a shared system.
