TVersity - Media server

Has anyone else tried this?

I have it installed but currently only a machine with 192MB of RAM so its choking a little bit.

Trying this through my PSP and it still hasn't worked correctly; shows the menus but no video is shown. I do think it is memory issues at moment as the P4 1.8 I have in the machine is 100% CPU for a long time

I will report back once my 512mb upgrade arrives

Been using it for a few months on my main home dell box (XPS gaming one) and it works a treat. I've been using it to stream video over to the xbox 360 and on a real hi-res (almost HD) it does choke the PC CPU a bit with all the transcoding. Re: Video not showing correctly... i had this trouble with xbox - it turned out it was because Tversity relies on whatever codecs you have on your PC rather than installing necessary codecs, so u might just need to download the relevant codecs.

The biggest issue i've had with it though is if the PC reboots, the xbox often has trouble seeing the tversity server, although this is probably more to do with the xbox than Tversity, which is an amazing piece of software.

hmm finally got this to work; additional memory turned up; only to discover that 1. PSP can only download video then play it instead of streaming and 2. PSP web browser will more usual timeout when trying to view larger movie files

I think i'll have to wait longer for them to sort those little issues out; or get a Xbox 360

Go on... get a 360. You know you want to.

I'd probably be using mine right about now if i hadn't dropped my 32" TFT on my knee when moving it. doh.
