It really wasn't based on cost - we're paying a decent whack for the first cage and we'll more likely be paying more for the next one in Bluesquare 3. Bearing in mind this is Bluesquare 2 (ground floor - Rapidswitch are on the 1st), we have:

    - A location in which both ourselves and our staff (present and future) want to live meaning we can provide a much better level of cover
    - A long, price fixed contract
    - Room to expand as they're constantly building
    - 16a per rack as standard, no quibble
    - Power and cooling at least to the spec of Redbus
    - Better security (you can't even get past the perimeter gate without authorisation) not to mention the build quality of our private suite
    - 24x7x365 technically skilled English staff who can't do enough to help you (anyone who has been to Meridian/Sovereign at night will see the benefit here). We had their guys helping us unpack and install racks at 4am.
    - Redundant fibre back to Docklands where our routers and transits are
    - Only 25 miles from Docklands

What more could any provider want from their facility?

Without wanting to drag this off-topic, I've always found the SoV staff to be articulate, helpful and in full command of the English language..

Maybe you're mistaken about SoV, or just spoke to one of the night security guards?

As for every other point, SoV meets or exceeds everyone one of those, just at a higher price point due to the preferential location for institutions.

Anyway.. congrats on your move, I hope it all settles down and pans out long term for you.

    J

I used tsohost a fair few months back for outsourcing our billing portal. I found everything perfectly fine, and uptime was great for such a small monthly price.

However in the end we did move it all to our own dedicated servers.

I must concede I was referring mostly to the weekend/night staff as that's when we do the majority of our datacentre work - out of hours. Even the day staff (at least in Meridian) have needed us to explain the difference between a PS/2 and an RJ45 in the past. I'm also talking about their management of cable runs, rack installs, etc, their billing department (random invoices and immediate credits in the same envelope!), unplugging racks by accident, the list goes on.

We've used Redbus for 4 years and seen the service gradually decline.

Your blatant affiliate spam didn't really add anything of use or relevance to warrant resurrecting a 10 year old thread.

    So anyway,
I use TSOhost for non-critical hosting of relatively static sites and runs like a dream. LetsEncrypt 1-click is handy. Great customer service via ticketing. Not sure on pricing, but I kinda just pay it so not too upset given it also just works.
