    tsohost.co.uk opinions?

Possible looking to move from domaincity.co.uk to tsohost.co.uk.

tso's features look pretty good for the money - would be interested in the 'pro' account. Anyone got anything good or bad to say about them before I make my final decision?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

I had an account with them a while ago I needed off my own server and they were absolutly great. They were then taken over/merged by another company which was high level focused and the good got better.
If thats the company you fancy then you would have no bother with them!

I believe they've just moved to their own Suite in BlueSquare, Reading.

why not check their forums (http://forums.tsohost.co.uk) and ask their users

Actually I did a quick Google after posting this and found their forums - all seems well in there also from what I can tell. They admit forums have been a bit underused but all responses I saw on there looked promising.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll do a bit more research tonight and will probably get the move going tomorrow.

    Now that is a surprise.

I would have never imagined tsohost or Adam moving to Bluesquare.

With the prices going the way they are, alot of providers are feeling the pinch and moving out of london..

Given property prices, It's make support cheaper too.

I feel like I should step in here .

It really wasn't based on cost - we're paying a decent whack for the first cage and we'll more likely be paying more for the next one in Bluesquare 3. Bearing in mind this is Bluesquare 2 (ground floor - Rapidswitch are on the 1st), we have:

    - A location in which both ourselves and our staff (present and future) want to live meaning we can provide a much better level of cover
    - A long, price fixed contract
    - Room to expand as they're constantly building
    - 16a per rack as standard, no quibble
    - Power and cooling at least to the spec of Redbus
    - Better security (you can't even get past the perimeter gate without authorisation) not to mention the build quality of our private suite
    - 24x7x365 technically skilled English staff who can't do enough to help you (anyone who has been to Meridian/Sovereign at night will see the benefit here). We had their guys helping us unpack and install racks at 4am.
    - Redundant fibre back to Docklands where our routers and transits are
    - Only 25 miles from Docklands

What more could any provider want from their facility?

Every customer we've shown round so far has been most impressed from the minute they arrived at the gates.

Jon - come round for a tour/beer any time .

I've taken yet another thread off topic. Sorry gents.

A good move Adam, last time I spoke to you about BSD (years ago) I think you spat on the floor. .

In fairness, BSD has proven to be a decent place to host and if it works for you then who can knock it?

You have cetainly grown UKWeb in the last 12 months. Nice work .

It's very easy to form an opinion about something based on rumour and conjecture. The pictures they released of Bluesquare 1 didn't help much either. Bluesquare 2 looks somewhat nicer!

If anyone is wondering about latency back to Docklands, we usually make 0.6ms. Even the most hardened gamers can live with that, I'm sure .

Can't complain at having two of the UK's 3 michelin starred restaurants within half a mile.

I've eaten at the waterside - wasn't impressed - there are some much better 2* rated places.

Maybe I'll give that a miss then. Was going to check out the taster menu at the Fat Duck first in any case. Should certainly be an experience.

Try everywhere once (or twice if you didn't like it)

These places don't get Rosetta's for nothing .. it may simply be you've been on a bad day..

The Fat Duck is lovely, managed to get a tour of the kitchen with Heston last time I was there (mostly as there was a table of loud obnoxious traders making a lot of noise about wanting a tour, but being told it wasn't possible.. so to wind them up HB came to our table and asked if we'd like to see the Kitchens )

    He signed my book too
