Thread: Poundhost

Seem very cheap... almost too cheap. Any comments from other users about Poundhost or their services?

We have been using poundhost for a while now.
We opted for one of their dedicated server packages. I have found both the service and the support excellent. Matthew deals with queries very quickly and friendly.

Considering the price I was initially monitoring the network closely for possible problems but I have been very pleasantly surprised.

One thing, if you sign up don't use the forums or ticket system, email him directly its far quicker.

Same, have 17 dedicateds with them now, very pleased, though the networks not been great these last few days, but with this:

Additional Bandwidth Capacity
PoundHost Internet is pleased to announce that a deal has been signed for an additional 100Mbits of bandwidth from KPN Eurorings. You may have noticed over the last few days that our network bandwidth has slowed slightly. This is due to increased loads at peak times - to resolve this problem we will be adding the extra 100Mbits from KPN Eurorings from the beginning of next week.

We have carefully chosen KPN Eurorings because of their extensive European network, which will extend our peering in Europe beyond our main Level3 transit connections.




It should hopefully get better soon.

I have a dedicated with them. It was setup very quickly, even did a custom Debian install for me. Customer service is prompt and friendly. As previous poster mentioned, network has been a bit iffy lately but they seem to have been on the ball with getting more bandwidth in. Overall I'm pleased.
