Thread: What has happened to Vibus ?

    Exclamation Hate to drag this back up but...

    Can anybody help me please - we have a domain hosted with wwwserver and our domain is down along with their website, help desk and control panel.

    We have a couple of telephone numbers for them: 08706265084, 08706265013 but these numbers are dead (not even ringing)! Should I be worried?!?

    Does anybody have any other way of contacting them?

    Any help, anybody could give would be much appreciated!

    There is a hardware issue with some of the Vibus services, technicians are onsite investigating - mail, dns, etc all seem to be up, but some websites are not accessible.

    Rob, unfortunately that isn't quite correct.

    ALL our mail servers and web sites are down associated with Vibus and have been all day.

    Appreciate 'catastrophic' failure can happen to a unit, however them all being down is beyond belief, especially when they alledgedly run back up units.

    Isn't the first time we've lost the mail servers and from a business perspective for several Companies this is a major issue.

    We are seriously reviewing remaining with this supplier.

    Whats going on with these guys? The sites are back up but still no MySQL!

    I have been trying to ring Vibus all week and constantly get the 'all our operators are busy at the moment' message. I have emailed directly to support and emailed via the helpdesk.uk.com and had no reply to either message.

    I know these posts are old but im going spare with old Vibus!

    I have renewed my domain xmotu.com and the hosting but the site is reading the domain has expired! I have emailed them/submitted a ticket but its the weekend and I so need to get on working with my sites. Its so frustrating! I have paid them for the renewals within the time frame but they still expire, I dont understand!! If anyone can help I would so appreciate it.

    This is the second time this has happened now as well. So much for loyalty!

    Perhaps its time for a review of host Mr/Ms Xmotu - Basics like domains expiring (twice) are not acceptable in my book, assuming as you state it was paid on time etc.

    Both times they were paid on time. Your so right PeteK, I shall be shopping around! I'm too loyal for my own good. Its not like I hate the hassle because I'm constantly moving domains around for clients as I build sites. I have tried calling them but it is Sunday so no answer. God knows where Ill get come tomorrow. *sigh

    I guess you will need to ensure your new host is there when you need them too - OK, it maybe that Vibus don't offer telephone support with your package - but surely they would have a "system down" ticket line, or option on the phone or something?

    Seems less than adequate IMO..

    Good luck none the less - and in future you may choose to register the domains yourself with another domina registrar distinct from your host so at least you would be in a position to pick up some short term account elsewhere and get dns repointing in progress, just in case..

    Vibus used to be good, I've not seen Johnny around these parts for quite a few years but they didn't used to be the type of company to let problems like these get the better of them. Perhaps Rob is around and might be able to prob Johnny towards this thread to help?

    Ah cheers guys for your replies, I don't know if someone has prodded Jonny but bless him he's fixed it on a Sunday evening and got me up and running again with an apology. If anything it was just nice to have a moan here and gave someone listen, you feel so helpless! But these guys are skating on thin ice... see what happens!

    Agreed, I was surprised to see this thread crop up from the past again, especially with a problem.

    Vibus used to be good, as Mark said. However, their service went downhill a few years ago, contacting them was very difficult, and I eventually had to move on from them to another host. I would recommend you do the same.
