subject Register1.net Order Received.

Thats the last email I received about my domain transfer. TBH I don't know what the procedure is for this sort of thing so I assumed I'd be contacted again.

With transfers an email is sent to the listed ADMIN email contact requesting their approval for the transfer by way of entering an AUTH Code provided by your current domain registrar, this email was sent to you, but hasnt been responded to yet.

If you'd like to raise a support ticket via your Register1 control panel, my support guys will talk you through the process.

LOL. I had no such email until about 2 minutes ago. I will respond to it now... its just failed. Like I said, the transfer lock is still on. I'll try again tomorrow after work to give GNHosting a chance to do their job.

Out of interest what is the link to the Reg1 support system? The link I see for "Support" sends me here .. https://www.register1.net/admin.php That cant be right?

When you first placed the order, the admin email was set to GN, not you, so it went to them...

Anyway.. any queries, just drop my support guys a line.

Then the transfer will fail.

The correct procedure is ...
1. check you are the registrant/admin contacts on the domain
- if you make any changes at this stage, depending on your existing registrar you may have to wait 30-60 days before being able to unlock for transfer
2. ensure the domain is at least 60 days old, or 30 days since you renewed it, or transfers should not be possible
3. unlock the domain at existing registrar
4. request an EPP transfer code
5. supply the EPP code to your new registrar
6. acknowledge the new registry incoming transfer email
7. acknowledge the old registry outgoing transfer email
8. wait upto a week
9 check your domain at a whois to see if the registry has been changed
- try whois.domaintools.com

I recently received an email to inform me of the (long

awaited demise) of Ghoulnet Ltd and GMHosting.

"It is with deep sadness we have to inform you that for

reasons beyond our control Ghoulnet Ltd has ceased

trading. What follows in this email is details on what

will happen to your domain and hosting and what you need

to do."

Now for those of you who were unfortunate enough to have

had accounts and domains registered with Ghoulnet and

GNHosting and for the many that experienced serious

disruption like I did in the last 2 years....this will be

welcome as now there is finally communication and in my

case.....I have finally gotten back control of my domains

into a single account that I can manage...hurray!!

After a full year with no response to URGENT support

tickets and emails...and trading with no Telephone

number, my experience was frustrating as within that

period I lost domains and my clients websites,

....fortunately I was able to migrate to a proper hosting

company and dropped many domains in the process.

Best move I ever made was to drop this pathetic company

and start again fresh.

Now during that frustrating time I went overhead to the

Domain company Enom ...that was supplying the domains to

GNHosting their own reseller ...only to be told to

contact Karl Gray of GNHosting/Ghoulnet...but of course

that was impossible because they had abandoned the car

and left the engine running. Thats how it seemed.

Well with the announcement of GNHostings demise comes the

following message.

"We have passed control of our domain accounts to Ezee

Internet Limited who will assist you in one of the

following ways."

That's OK....they are doing well to fix the mess left by

GNHosting....but beware.....in communication we are

dealing with the very same person it seems that was at

the controls of Ghoulnet. The said Karl Gray!

"Ezee Internet Ltd . If we can be of any further

assistance please don't hesitate to get back to me.

With Regards Karl Gray"

Is this the same Karl Gray that allowed so many people to

suffer in silence .....I know I saw many desperate

attempts in forums of website and domain owners trying to

find out how to contact Ghoulnet and GNHosting

Well.....are you going to trust the same people to manage

your hosting and domains after the farce many users had

to deal with in the past years??

I am certainly not.
I will transfer my domains away as soon as possible.

I wouldnt trust Ezee Internet for anything.....Karl Gray

shouldnt be trusted with any hosting company again.

I believe so, their Nominet Tag always remained as EZEE - I thought they just rebranded to Ghoul Net because they had been contacted by some large company that said Ezee was too similar to a brand of their own - this is just from memory though.
