Transfer .com's away from UK2 with out incurring extra charges...

Hopefully this will be some help...

1 - Signup at http://joker.com/ using the exact same email address as you signed up with UK2 - you can check this via whois lookup @ http://joker.com - it is the owner email address

2 - Joker will then send you an email, following the instructions in there

3 - Log in to http://joker.com/

4 - Goto "Servicezone" and click "Proceed" under the "Domain Settings" menu box

5 - Click your domain name

From here you can change all of the contact details, the main ones being the admin, tech and billing as this will be setup to UK2
You can also update your name servers on this page

If you are going to transfer the domain away from UK2 Make sure you update the all of the contact details to your own, Then...

1 - Goto "Servicezone" and click "Proceed" under the "Advanced Options" menu box

2 - Click "Transfer" under the "Domain - Transfer to other Registrar" menu box

3 - Enter your domain name in the input box and click "Next >"

4 - Check box to confirm and click "Next >"

An email is now sent to all of the contacts (which is why you must update them before starting this)
Read the emails and authorise as needed

IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you have authorised all of this - Joker only open a "Transfer window" for 10 days, which starts 5 days from the time you initiate this process.
Once the "Transfer window" is open get your new registrar to issue the transfer - you will then get some more emails for authorisation - DO NOT issue the transfer outside of the window, this can delay the whole transfer.

If you get stuck take a look at jokers FAQ first

Hi Sean, thanks for the info about moving .com's away from UK2.......is there a similar procedure to move .co.uk's away from them - they charge about £19.00 I believe?

Mark

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately the only other way you can change the TAG of your .uk domain is via Nominet (MakingChangesToYourDomainName) who charge £15+VAT

Cheers,
Sean

And are currently running about 17 days behind ... so if you're in a hurry it's not the route to go sadly ...
