Thread: This Is England

Got to see this as well as Spider Man 3, in fact if I've got time I'll take a drive in between jobs.

it seemed like they tried putting too much into the film which id guess ruined it a bit

This is England seems pretty nice movie to watch, I have gone through the review at thebond.tv/?p=179, also you will love to watch Life of Brian that won best British movie in a recent poll.

Late update but not been on computer much in a long time due to heavy work load *sighs* but I did end up watching it, and found it to be restricted in it's point of views to create a balance which is acceptable to not be classed as a entirely racist film. Although I'm not racist myself I do agree with some of the views shared but there is a right way to go about it then hatred. Although im going onto a different subject entirely with regardd to talking about the film 'This Is England' I'll cut it short here.

Back to the film, it was ok in parts but never seemed to come to a proper conlusion/ending (don't you think?)

TiE was fairly good and reminded me of my own youth in the Midlands. The Ska scene was subsequently infiltrated by NF skinheads and I think Meadows tries to convey that originally rudeboys were into the music and style; the racist element came later.

It's a close relation to Made in Britain which boasts a strong performance from Tim Roth as a nihilistic skinhead.

I brought This is England about 2 weeks ago, It starts off a bit slow and soppy, but it does get a bit more exciting and then it suddenly goes back to being slow and soppy. I would not watch it again, seems to be a waste of space on my shelf, so i gave it my brother
