strepsils are no good - u need cold and flu capsules from lemsip - and the drink too - once it has gone semi numb then suck on ur strepsils !
My friend once gave me lemsip and whiskey.
It certainly got rid of the cold, but the hangover the next morning...

Believe it or not gargling on salty water (no comments!!!) works wonders for a sore throat.
Trying to prevent the gag reflex is a challenge in itself though (see above, no comments!!)
