My thoughts on ...

Forum2.co.uk !!

I think this community rules. Period.

I thought I'd sign up here due to my new London based colo etc but I get the feeling there will be much more to it!

I feel more at home here then on f.e webhostingtalk.com of which I have been an Administrator (yes, no joke) and of course a long-years member.

I think above words say something about this place here... thanks for letting me be part of it and if only I found you sooner!

Yup,

I'd go along with the above. I really enjoy the WHT forums myself but it's great to have a similar forum leaning towards the UK market.

I'm glad I found forum2 from our web logs

WHT is awesome but there's so much content, it's information overload. Good to have a forum based here in blighty

I just signed up too, as reading the posts throughout this forum I get the impression it's instantly more 'friendly' and UK based (obviously) than WHT.

Yeah WHT is great as long as you stay on the right side of them. Also with WHT its too easy to get banned. Especially with their automated ban system in place lol.

Yup, as Mark said - and it isnt difficult to read a paragraph or two.

The forum works on a 2 way system, you give forum2 content (in non advertising forums), and it gives you the oppertunity to have free marketting, you cant just register, place an ad and leave

In summary:
1) you must have at least 5 posts before placing an advert
2) you must make another 5 posts after placing an advert before you can place another
3) you must be in the "web hosts" group before being allowed to place an ad.

Stick to that and you adverts will stay and hopefully your customer base will increase, otherwise myself or one of the other mods/ admins will remove your add and PM you

Hi TotalHost ,

s'probably just taking time before one of the admins makes you a "host" member, in the mean time, feel free to join in the discussions - there are a number of interrelated forums, why not give peopl the benefits of your experince by answering questions - about wifi, or adsl or hosting ...

or if you need some information on something, start a thread.

the more active a part you plan in the forum2 community, the more likely any ad you place is going to be taken seriously ....

what about answering ...
http://www.forum2.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1597

or finding a few uk hosting relevant news articles to point people to ...

Yes it looks like it was just a delay in being added to the web host group that was causing me posting problems. All sorted now though.
