Are they showing F1 on BBC HD?

Wow... that would be great, got FreeSAT here but there rarely seems to be anything to watch in HD.
Can't quite believe that they will broadcast it in HD though as it took them forever to move to widescreen format.

Is Wimbledon not in HD now?

I'll refer back to my previous comment, I have heard that the BBC are going to use their own camera teams as opposed to those that ITV use/d. Make of that what you will.

Where did you hear that? Pretty sure thats not going to happen!

The only cameras ITV had there were for pits/gridwalk etc, the rest is all controlled by Mr. Bernie Eccles-cake

Via an "industry source" I'm not making any claims, just that it sounds promising...

I've been trying to find out the name of the company which provided the ITV Sport pictures and facilities, however it doesn't appear on any of the videos on the ITV website
With the switch to BBC I assume the same company is involved and this is the reason why so many of the same staff and commentators are seen to be switching from ITV to BBC, although it does appear some have said "no thanks, I'm off"

The rights are owned by the FOM, Formula 1 Managment, though they tend to change ownership between subsidary companies of FOH/SLEC on a regular basis.

The race pictures are actually produced by a different subsidary company of SLEC, except commentary, pits coverage, gridwalk, paddock etc. (I am 99% sure this is what your industry source is talking about the Beeb taking their own cameras for Paul).
