"Lots of Torques"

I hate Clarkson-speak. Why does he insist on acting so dumb? Real petrol heads understand the greasy bits and the terminology!

Probably because the show is more about entertainment and less about cars, and has been for a long time now

It helps bring in the viewers, or so the BBC believe
I used to watch Top Gear when it was a real "Motoring Magazine" and reviewed real-life cars
I now watch other motoring programs, like Fifth Gear

Agreed but entertainment does not have to be dumb - nor do entertainers!

That's why they have 3 presenters, each with variable levels of intelligence and styles of humour!

For Clarkson its all an act. You see a different person when he's QI.

He is in fact a very clever and highly educated man.

I realise that - just makes him all the more annoying for me.

Oh yes - my other gripe is - there is nothing more un-cool than discussing what is cool!! Particularly concerning cars!

Totally agree. Have you ever tried comparing the spec of cars from manufacturers brochures? Unholy mix of Imperial and that Johnny Foreigner stuff with no consistency

Only capacity should be in metric - tradition!!
