Probably because the show is more about entertainment and less about cars, and has been for a long time now

It helps bring in the viewers, or so the BBC believe
I used to watch Top Gear when it was a real "Motoring Magazine" and reviewed real-life cars
I now watch other motoring programs, like Fifth Gear

That's why they have 3 presenters, each with variable levels of intelligence and styles of humour!

My Fiesta has less than 100, can I play too?

For Clarkson its all an act. You see a different person when he's QI.

He is in fact a very clever and highly educated man.

I realise that - just makes him all the more annoying for me.

Oh yes - my other gripe is - there is nothing more un-cool than discussing what is cool!! Particularly concerning cars!
