Great Start to the New Year - Grrrrr
So i'm in the hospital visiting the missus and little one, go outside to get something from the car to find that someone has driven into the side of it, mullering all the side panels, totalled the left rear wheel and broken the rear axle by the looks of it. Then I see that i've got a parking ticket too (guess thats my fault for assuming NYD is a public holiday). Grrrrr.
I bet it was a bloody Livingstone Bendy Bus.
On the plus side, might gimme the push I needed to think about getting that new car.

Of course my bull-bar is safe, it sits so high the old people and the children go underneath.

Bummer.
I got lucky with hospital parking when our son was born in August. My sister lives 100m from the local hospital, with a nice big driveway
Hows babe doing in hospital?

Is that Livingstone or Livingston?
The 01 January is a public holiday in England and Wales
The 01 and 02 January are public holidays in Scotland
However, these exemptions normally only apply to council car parks, not privately operated ones
I would recheck the car park signage and meter sign, ideally take photos
Also, dispute the parking ticket

I'd have thought the parking ticket is the least of his problems

First call would be CCTV, should be able to get hold of a copy of it for the standard £10 DP charge, there's bound to be cameras covering it.

If its a privately owned car park you're under no obligation to pay. Only council enforcement you need to pay or you'll be prosecuted.

Mark, sorry to hear that - a real downer. On the brighter side, 2009 will keep on getting better and better for you

Yeh you're right :-) TBH i'm not that pissed about it, it's only a car. I'm more annoyed about the time taken to sort it out which is less time with my daughter. 2009 is definitely looking good :-)
BTW, it wasn't a public car park it was a public street. Re the ticket, i'm going to dispute it (if I can force myself to be bothered, as the car wasn't movable by the time the waredn put the ticket on).

Aye, indeed. Fortunately Boris has an opportunity to undo many of the loony left policies of RedKen.
