Microsofts Vision of 2019

The only thing that holds back the human race is money. If we had some what of a utopian society where we all worked for the better good then we would probably be living on other planets by now.

I can see all this being possibly with the main restriction being money. 2019 the UK will probably have only just moved to more sensible borrowing.

I've only watched the first couple of minutes of the video, but it seems to be the same thing that we have been seeing recently and in my opinion is exactly where human<->computer interfaces should be heading.
We have a lot of the processing power and technology today for the large scale devices, it's just a case of developing the software. After all, the best UI in the world is no use without applications to take advantage of it.

Awesome. Some great ideas and great potential for user interfaces there.

It looks great, but I'm sure there would be implications for 'hosting'.

Interesting demands on storage and processing power.
Looks awesome though, looking forward to more development. Not sure where I saw it, but someone URL'd to a Uni in the states doing development, mobile phone location and fingertip colour recognition for drawing a circle = project clock etc.

So just remind me, how many communist states have been world leaders in technology, arts, or output? Money is the critical thing that means the human race is as advanced as it is today!

Geez Terry, you have a dim view of MS as a whole. Odd give you are listing asp.net oin your sig... We have (amongst others) one W2k - yup 2k not 2k3 server that has been up without fault for nine years and one month as I type and plenty more that get patched too

However the issue is not with the operating system per se, it is the hardware drivers / 3rd party software that cause the issues, not the underlying OS in the vast majority of cases. BTW the box in question is HP hardware running Oracle and a backup solution and that is it...

But my point is not about living under communism. If we as a human race simply worked for the reward of creating a better society rather than for financial reward.

As I said fairly utopian and extremely unlikely to ever happen.
