Thread: Phurix???

    Hi guys,

First off, I must apologise as I wasn't aware of any on-going issues or else I would have replied sooner.

As per the above, in April 2012, I made a difficult decision to step away from the Phurix business due to other commitments and left the day-to-day operations with James Henry.

However, I am still able to get involved to help out, especially when people are in a sticky situation.

Having checked the urgent@phurix.net email address I now realise I wasn't in receipt of these. This has now been corrected, so if you resend your emails I will receive them directly to my personal out-of-band email address and will try to deal with them on an individual basis.

I apologise to all of you who feel like you're not receiving the service you expect from Phurix. It was never my intention when I began the business in 2004 with James Henry that 10 years later we would be delivering the type of service we set out to avoid.

Although I can't offer any guarantees on behalf of James Henry and the future of Phurix, as an person of integrity I can promise to do what I can for those of you who are having problems.

    All the best.

    - James Wade

So which is it? I don't understand why you would be expecting/ed to receive any Phurix emails if you're no longer involved in the company?

    Damien,

I am happy to assist where there are major issues.

I stepped aside from the day to day operations in 2012 to take more of an advisory role with the business.

    Thanks.

Hmm, what's with editing your post last week? I take it this means you are still involved?

Are Phurix making a comeback and will I never be free of the fiasco that is Phurix?

Several months ago I got an email to say my account balance at Phurix was outstanding - odd since I cancelled my accounts in July 2013 and had nothing to do with them since migrating my accounts to another host - also having received a refund after complaining about their awful service and clearly stating to close all my accounts.

I replied to this email and received no reply, same with the next one that came that told me I wasn't paying my bills. I assumed this was just another sign of a dead company with an invoice system mounting up and sending automatic reminders.

Next thing I get an email today about my debt to Phurix and how I owe them 100s for the services they have provided for the last however long, and they are within their rights to claim these from me.

I told them I cancelled all my accounts and got a refund and they denied all knowledge or record of this and said they only offer refunds in rare circumstances and that does not constitute a cancellation of services so I still have to pay them for their efforts and time in providing a service - what service exactly, lol!

I repeatedly stressed I had cancelled my accounts and they kept trying to bully me in a very harassful manner to come to a "reasonable resolution". As I cancelled my services in July 2013, the only reasonable resolution I could find probably wouldn't make it past the moderator here, so I forwarded my cancellation email, originally sent personally to James Henry at the time, and actioned by return with a refund, and I haven't heard from them since. It's funny when I asked for a phone number and real business address they weren't forthcoming, I would have been quite happy to get my solicitor to call them, and also referred them to this thread which kind of acts as a flashing beacon to the fact I was totally unhappy with them and as well as cancelling in writing also stated it here.

I would like to publicly ask for an apology from Phurix for the disgraceful manner in which they have behaved - how many other cancelled clients are they harassing for "Unpaid" money for services that were cancelled long ago?

James Wade, this sort of behaviour is atrocious and unacceptable. Was it you sending the emails or was it your alter ego? Strange they just wouldn't give me a name or sign off by a name or offer a phone number!

Is there any way to report this sort of behaviour, demanding money that isn't even owed is poor practice at best and fraudulent/harassment at worst.

Thank heavens I found that web hosting companies don't need to be like this!

They are still emailing me refusing to accept that I cancelled my accounts and want me to come to a "reasonable solution" due to their errors and incompetence.

What is wrong with them this is totally ridiculous now!

For reference, this is the original post:

For clarification: It's not a company, it's a partnership business, of which I am a partner. However I stepped aside from the day to day operations and take more an advisory role with the business. Meanwhile the day to day business is operated by James Henry.

    Thanks.

You could try talking to the police about harassment, but they probably won't be interested and would tell you that it's a civil matter.

So what can I do to stop these people thinking that I owe them money. I clearly stated in writing, now they are saying something about I sent it from the wrong email - which as this thread clearly states is because the email provided through them wasn't working so I had to use my webmail!

    This is Kafkaesque!

Phew, Solicitors informed - I'll be getting a specialist callback tomorrow from their commercial division, and opening a case.

Duty solicitor said they don't have a leg to stand on.

Wondered when the helpline I get with my business insurance would come in handy!

Perhaps a strongly worded letter on some headed paper will be enough to make them reconsider their position

Of course you would have to work out where to send it first...

I would also need to know who to address it to as the person behind these emails never signs their name, refuses to identify themselves, always uses the pronoun "we" and won't give a phone number to contact them on.

Perhaps James Wade? I will be interested to hear his contribution to this thread!

Well Phurix is apparently a partnership, so "Mr James Wade and Mr James Henry trading as Phurix" should do the trick.

If you can't get any other address out of them, then I would start with the registrant address on the phurix.co.uk domain name, which was "validated" by Nominet in November 2014.

    1246 DAVENPORT HOUSE
    261 BOLTON ROAD
    BURY
    BL8 2NZ
    United Kingdom

This is the same address that they use on their web site as well as a few other places online by the looks of it and is the one that you previously said was seemingly nothing more than a forwarding service (at best).

If you aren't able to get a response from them at this address, then you can at least tell Nominet that it's wrong and they will require the registrant to update the address or Nominet will suspend the domain name.

I notice Mr Wade was online earlier, according to the little green traffic light!

Seems he has nothing to say on the matter.
