    Phurix???

    Hi all,

    I am posting this in desperation, really. I host a number of websites with Phurix, including my business critical site as a sole trader.

    About a week ago I had an issue with emails that were sent to me not arriving and bouncing back with "delayed" errors, but this seemed to be sorted.

    It started happening again late last Friday. I only noticed because my usually busy webmail inbox was dead for 24 hours. So I emailed support, including the urgent@ address. About a day later these all bounced back saying they were delayed (but have not yet had undeliverable bounces).

    I tried the technical support 0871 number listed on their website - recorded message said line not in use, same for their sales phone number (0845 number).

    They have an IRC for tech support, tried that - still waiting for a response after 4 hours.

    So my host has an issue with their email and there is no way whatsoever I can contact them to notify them of this. Is this something they should be monitoring? I have no idea what is going on, all I know is that I am losing business as in my line of work if people are getting emails bouncing back at them they are going to go elsewhere.

    Does anyone know someone at Phurix or have a working contact phone number? Maybe they will see this, I am astonished a company can put phone numbers on its site and promise 24/7 support when they clearly don't even provide support within 72 hours and their phone numbers aren't real

    Maybe...

    Best of luck - they are good at looking anonymous from my quick search.. Perhaps next question is do you have a backup of the site - maybe time to switch provider..

    Been like that for yonks... Have used them since 2003 but you're right - yes, have backups - I will look around for a good place to change to as enough is enough, have had a lot of issues and it usually takes ages to get any kind of reply...

    Crikey, haven't heard Phurix mentioned in absolutely yonks which probably isn't a good sign OP - best of luck non-the-less!

    Just because it's on a website doesn't make it true or reliable !

    Lots of hosts say 24/7 support, but its only when there's a problem you find the truth is support is only available between classes and as long as Mummy isn't insisting on homework getting done ...

    No response for days means they don't care about your business and time to migrate elsewhere.

    Thanks for the responses, the one about mummy and homework made me chuckle.

    As well as a couple of new sites I need to put together, I have a number of sites I will need to move so will need to set aside some time to research and plan this to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible.

    Will have a look round this site and maybe post something in the requests section if I don't find quite what I need.)

    if you have a few accounts you might like to look at getting a reseller account that will allow you to host multiple domains.

    Although we do not provide these, there any a fair few reputable hosts that would be happy to help you out I'm sure

    Belated thanks Ricky. My email isn't working again on Phurix, have emailed support from my non-phurix webmail and the support email has just come back with connection refused. I reckon I will be waiting till Monday to get this sorted, thankfully my websites are up...

    Ironically I had just posted a request in the requests section for new hosting, before this problem occurred but it looks like a move is going to become a priority now.

    I look forward to seeing what the companies here can offer if my post ever comes out of the moderation limbo!

    Thanks Paul. I STILL haven't had the problem resolved or heard anything back from them... My sites are being copied over now I believe by a helpful new host...

    Annoyingly I still have 6 months to run on 2 accounts that I paid up front for annually in Jan with Phurix - not sure what my right to something back money wise is, but I will certainly be demanding something!
