Arrow Your Own In House Control panel

If you had the chance to build your own in house control panel for your hosting company for both use on shared, resellers and dedicated servers what type of features whould you have?

This should be a little bit of fun,

I whould like to see a control panel that controls everything under one panel, to be able to manage the hosting account and shoutcast even game and dedicated servers, But that whould probly cost alot to be made

So what do you think, what type of features whould you have ? , This is just out of intrest

Helm started as an in-house control panel

ever hopeful, helm4 looks a drastic improvement in terms of looks .. but is it going to cut the mustard feature wise? billing really needs to be improved, as well as its search facilities and user management admin level.. along with other things... but other than that, its good

I'd have a big button that says "under no circumstances should you ever press this button" that debits the user's account by £1 every time it's pressed. I should be able to retire in a couple of weeks

That'd be naughty though

I'd like a version of cPanel (for customers that insist on it) that actually works

come on, could you imagine the helpdesk queue with the number of tickets related to your 'big button'

If you charged 1 squid per ticket as well, not only would you be able to retire from your button revenue, but you could buy a small country or island also...

Not really...

"cPanel, server management on the edge"

In other words "We break something new every update and deny for weeks that there's a problem! Then take another four months of head scratching to come up with a 'fix'. And the cycle continues."

EDIT: Forgot the irony there, cPanel has an "Edge" build, doesn't it. Stable is buggy, Edge must be great fun.
