Thread: Wanted: 1-2 APC AP7920

Before I just go and buy something off the shelf, has anyone got 1 or 2 of these they want shot of for sensible money?

I have just purchased an APC7911 from a guy who was listing on ebay. New in the box, i got him down to £150 plus shipping. From talking with him on the phone, it sounds like he has quite a lot of them. Only thing you have to do is replace the power connector for a commando plug. If interested I can pass his details on to you.

Rack PDU, Switched, 2U, 30A, 208V, (16)C13

You sure just swapping the plugs is safe? not really clued up on it all but given the different voltages etc?

Last time we bought one of these we also bought the commando to UK mains adaptor (they use them on carovans etc) to save trying to fit a fat 32amp socket into a small 13amp plug

Voltages are identical to the UK models. I checked all this before I purchased. You have to use Commandos on them though as the cable is 15mm thick!

What part did you buy to put on the end of this? a 16A commando or 32A ?

EDIT: Would you be able to fit a 16amp commando plug on the cable do you think?

I already had the commando plug to go on this off of an old apc powertower. AFAIK they are all the same... you could always look on ebay and send questions to the sellers... i.e. 'will i be able to fit this onto a power cable that is 15mm diameter?".

I'm pretty sure I fitted a 16a commando onto one of these before so all should be good.

ISTR that model will easily draw 20A+ so fitting a 16A commando is asking to burn the place down ...

Err only if your stupid enough to load more than 16A of draw onto the unit?
