It is SQL 2005 express IIRC. Yes it is rather limited but for 99% of people it will be fine.

Hi Jon
Thanks for the reply. I was wondering this but I thought the express version once installed identified itself as such in the 'add/remove'. Is there a way to confirm?
I assumed that Plesk wouldn't bundle (auto install) a product of this nature requiring such significant licensing - not at least without warning - but just need to check.
Many thanks
Lea
I believe you can upgrade it to a non-express version, which requires a commercial license, or Plesk can control a remote MSSQL server. If you don't need it you can disable or uninstall it and Plesk will continue to work.

Express is fine for now cheers.
I looked through MSSQL the dlls installed by Plesk and found one which had 'express' in it's name so that's something.
