Its actually a reasonable OS, and getting very stable in the last couple of releases. Windows Server 2008 and indeed the "Core" version - I've been using it under pre-release testing for 9 months or so.

The Core idea is a good idea but from my understanding to install .net straight away you need the GUI installed which pretty much every host is going to need!
Yes, I have, but why anyone would want to run Apache on Windows is beyond me, it just doesn't work as well, not to mention paying for Windows licenses as well.
