As this is your first site, you're probably going to be best looking for shared hosting - it will be cheapest, and a good introduction to hosting without throwing you too far into the deep end.
Once you've decided on that, you need to decide whether you want to go for Windows (ASP, MSSQL) or Linux (PHP/Perl, MySQL). Most hosting is done on Linux (cheaper, arguably more reliable), so unless you're hell-bent on Windows, you now want an account on a shared Linux host.
I've seen that as cheap as £5/year, but at that end it's really a case of you get what you pay for - I'd have thought £40-60/year would be good value for money.
Take a look around and buy from a reputable outfit. Ask in the 'requests' forum - most of them should be good. (Edit: oops, you already have
