Best place for hosting a website would be on a web-hosting server
You can see a few recent sites about why having it on the end of a DSL line is a bad idea ...

Knowing a little more about the site, and what you need woudl help ...
Is this a business site, personal site, whats's it about, who's going to be lookg after it, will you design it yourself - online or offlline ?

My website is hosted with dchost.co.uk which I've found to be very good. They provide a control panel so the options for the site can be adjusted easily. Also, the support is very fast.
