Free Open-E - DSS LITE Data Storage Server LITE Edition
Hi Guys,
For those of you who didn't already know - Open-E have a DSS Lite version available for download for free until the end of Jan - limited to 2TB, but not bad for free
http://www.open-e.com/free
Cheers,
Sean

Cheers Sean
I ended up with SanMelody Lite for my specific application, but did review Open-E.
Looks fine for a starter/small office though!

Thanks
The download speed is terrible. Any chance of a mirror?

No problem guys, I just thought I'd post it as it could be handy for some - I've not actually downloaded (we already have the USB Dongle versions) it so can't offer a mirror

If you gave up or the connection timed out PM me for a link. I had the same problem and resorted to downloading it onto one of our servers at BS to download to the office at our leisure.
Best regards.

Just to let you know, I have recently carried out some basic IOMeter testing for my iSCSI SANMelody lite connection.
IO Meter - 100% read, 32K, 5 IO outstanding, 2 worker, sequencial
Sanmelody Lite server to local disk:293.58MB/s, 1.063ms average
Node to it's own local disk:255.36MB/s, 1.223ms average
Node to iSCSI server: 102.95MB/s, 3.034ms Average
Maybe of some use?
