    2003 has a massively larger clientbase, and therefore any security issues *tend* to get spotted sooner and therefore fixed sooner - that *will* change over time of course

    The lower resources 2003 uses would be an advantage but it has less features. So it really depends on your needs.

    Depends how much of the crap you install with 2008... you can have a far lower HW requirement with 2008 if you avoid everything you don't need...

    BTW when are you going to stop spamming all over the place?

    Why not future proof your self by going for 2008 64bit standard edition .This will allow you to use up to 32Gb ram.

    You can use Hyper-V but you will be better off with W2K8 DC edition so you don't have to pay for the windows licenses on the VM's

    Since using Hyper-V we've found it to be a lot more stable then MS Virtual Server 2005 (ie no reboots of the VMs). Its great too that we can run Windows 2003 / 2008 + Linux on the same box.
