Thread: Web servers

Just wondering if anyone here had any good experiences with caudium web server? it looks quite interesting and rather an easy solution. Having been irritated by apache2+php4 header problems and going back to php4+apache1.3 just wondering if this was an alternative i should even bother with? php support seems to exist too......tbh I've never heard of it.

p.s. on the apache2+php4 problems i haven't found much on the web about it - it seems as if something is sending out headers so i cant do session_start() even before the top line of an http (before any tags) page and I'm not sure how to get rid of that. I haven't tried php5 yet though.......thanks. It's just irritating becuase it breaks all my own authentication scripts, webmail apps and almost anything that uses sessions.

OMG- I just sorted the problem of headers. However, to do it i had to chmod 777 /var/lib/php4 - is this a security risk? the session path is in php.ini right? maybe i should create a session dir just for it.
