I was annoyed because some of us are very interested in certain subjects such as Win2k3 security, but you wasted my time as i had to read that thread to find that you'd posted a complete red herring.

Maybe you didn’t intend it but I found your post quite offensive (hence my comment)

Why? I hardly see why someone telling you to do your research before posting something like you did as offensive, especially as you made a post stating RDP had a vulnerability, when you clearly had the evidence in your possesion that suggested otherwise. It's like me saying Apache doesn't run on Linux then posting a link to a web page running Apache on Linux. If you're that easily offended, then you need to go hide under your stairs and never go out in public - because it gets a lot scarier than Marks comment out in the big wide world.

Yes but that doesn't mean that we should be rude to each other and bite their head off everytime someone makes any mistakes! We are all humans and we all make mistakes. There's always a nicer way to correct someone and show some humanity to each other.

I wonder how you get people to work for you if you are in a business.

I don't see that Mark bit anyones head off, he merely stated a fact and a little bit of advice. Now rude would have been:

Are you ****ing stupid or something, you've got the evidence in front of you, and you were still too much of a retard to read it and get your facts right.

Now that would have been rude, but I doubt anyone here even thought that, I know I didn't, I just thought the same as Mark, it'd be nice to actually get facts in order before making such a post.

Rather then de-railing the thread I will rest my case on the note that neither your's nor Mark's comments were very polite either.

So, can anyone tell me if they've had any experience with DRAC? Is it a viable option to KVMoIP?

Found it again - read this for a good summary of the weaknesses in RDP, then decide.

Well I'd expect my reply in the previous post to not be very polite, if you read, I said that I'd consider that reply to be rather rude if it had been given and you'll also see that I said I didn't think that at the time, and nor do I now.

The only thing I think about this whole thread, is that some people are far too easily offended by being told they are wrong - Although I am aware that in these politically correct and mad times, no one is wrong, it's just a case of Deffered Correctnes, much like failure is Deffered Success, because we don't want to hurt peoples feelings.

Karl you seem to be missing the point, I didn’t actually give my own view or opinion on the matter at all, only passed on what I had heard / read.

There are a few members on this forum who unfortunately seem to feel the need to 'attack' users who they feel are 'below' them selves, it really can give off a bitter after taste and is entirely un-necessary or warranted.

Also, it’s worth remembering that this is a public forum and therefore all comments are viewable to the public, in my eyes the last thing I would want to do is put off potential customers by leading them to believe I was impolite and to some degree intolerable.

OK people, time to wrap this thread up as its getting tedious.

from an administrators POV, I dont see either Karl or Mark being aggressive/ insulting.etc, and that anyone insulted in this thread needs to toughen up. As far as "intolerable" goes, lol....

I also dont consider either of them to have come accross as rude, though some might see it as rude for someone to suggest a more respected user on the forum a "troll", and in this case I would consider it more damaging to companies that post before checking facts".

And on that note, before this thread wastes any more time, im going to close it.

If anyone has any worries of loosing revenue over google indexing this page, then please contact myself or one of the other administrators - and it will either be moved to the hosts only section, or removed from the forum in full.
