Have to say that the last version of HELM (3.2.10) is very good and version 4 looks to be even better!!!!!

It's slow because the whole codebase is shockingly awful - a dozen vaguely active users on the panel will bring even a fairly well specced webserver to a relative crawl. The whole thing appears to be bits of bash+perl badly sellotaped together, and therein lies the cause behind it breaking every month.![]()

To be fair, we've not had a CPanel related problem for a couple of years now, the last problem we had was with Ensim breaking due to the main RPM tool being broken, the actual tools were fine, just the rpm binary front-end was broken. Other then that, we've not had any issues with it for a long time (Look back, and you'll see that I'm no CPanel fan-boy). I'm still not its biggest fan, due to the sticky-back plastic and bits of string approach, but it does have some things well sorted that other systems could do well to learn from.

I think this might depend on what release tree you run on - we use Release rather than Stable, because Stable is a little too far behind.
I feel sorry for the people running Edge though.

Yeah, we run release for the same reason, because stable is usually ancient.

I dont know how many times i have to unsubscribe from this thread to stop recieveing email notifications, this must be about the 5th
we use cpanel/whm because our cleints like it
It depends on your admin hand, btw cPanel is more popular.
I'd expect SSH to be more popular than cPanel overall

If by "popular" you mean the most live installations I would imagine that Plesk is more popular, with the number of Virtuozzo providers (particularly the large ones) offering only Plesk VPS's and some of the larger US dedicated providers pushing it as preferred option.

Ok, so this is probably useless info and probably doesn't give any indication how many servers using each CP are in use.![]()

Cpanel is the best! No questions about it!
Its the most popular, not the best.
