Remote management of Windows 2003

What do you use for remotely managing windows 2003 servers?

By 'remotely managing' I mean things like:
setting up new web sites;
adding user accounts;
adding directories;
running applications or configuring them.

Years ago I used to use PC anywhere - not sure if this is still waht people use. I know Xp has some built in 'remote assistance' but not sure if windows 2003 has this or if it could be used for this purpose.

Thanks in advance,

Flash

RDC.
Not so much remote assistance, more of remote desktop. Or a win32 control panel. HELM etc.

If you are looking for a paid one then Helm is the best one available.

Else, when it comes to free control panels, then give bankoi a try..

You can also configure your server to host websites, with the help of IIS if you do not wish to have any control panel.. But ofcourse this will be a manually managed plain server.

Pure remote administration is via remote desktop control. Its just like PCanywhere but about 10 times better.

If you want a control panel for adding sites/email accounts etc... then HELM is the way to go.

Terminal Services (MSRDP) is fine for dedicated servers where the customer has administrative access and is running a single site or set of sites, however apps like remotely-anywhere or remote administrator can add some value where the audience isnt in the sysadmin category.

`Thinksupport` mentioned Bankoi earlier in the thread, I'm assuming this refers to http://www.webhost-panel.com/order.php - doesnt appear to still be free, but $150/server, is this a recent change ?

Well I remeber earlier when I had used it, it was free... Seems they have made it a paid control panel now..

A few more free control panels for windows available are :

Cubepanel Lite : http://www.cubepanel.com/download/index.htm

Parsv Window Hosting Control Panel 2.0 : http://www.parsv.com/downloads/download.html

I am sure these will be help to manage a windows server that too at no cost...!

The last time I looked at Cube it seemed a bit rough around the edges - might be worth another look now it's up to 2.2 - thanks.
