Question Windows Control Panel - migration an important factor!

I thought there's no place better to ask than on here with regards to Control Panel questions, so here goes...

I'm looking to a roll out a Windows based control panel for our company and am likely to go for one of the big players such as Helm or Plesk, but just wondered if anyone has had any experience migrating such systems?

The plan, as it stands, is to get the system up and running on our current network but with the view to migrate it to a DC along with the rest our kit in Q1 of next year. Obviously I don't want to roll something out that's going to be a nighmare to move so flexibility in this area features high on my requirements list.

Any thoughts of feedback on this would be much appreciated, as will Windows control panel experience in general.

Dan.

just pick the box with it on and move that
The both have migration methods so either should work

I've never had any experiance with Plesk, however HELM migration is pretty easy. It used to be a nightmare, and the only 'easy' way was by scripting it... however with the new "Helm Migration Tool" its very simple to do.

Another plesk user here. I think at the moment its the best windows control panel. HELM is just too clicky and not as polished. The new version looks interesting though.

We also use Plesk for Windows, there is the Plesk Migration Manger (PMM) for Windows however I havent used it so cant comment on that part of it.

HELM 4 with the AJAX looks nice, would be good to see Plesk adopting that style of interface in the future

The PMM on Linux has worked fine for us moving between Plesk servers and cPanel to Plesk. However, the Windows one is another kettle of fish!

Another vote for Plesk here. Used the Migration and Backup tools without issue on Windows.
