Good Morning,
Are there any customer support outsourcing companies that specialise in Web hosting? i have seen one called Bobcares.com, but are any based in the UK or Ireland ?
or is there any software that can be added to your home page to enable customer support to be provided via the web.
Many thanks
Rob

Not sure about Uk or Ireland but in addition to bobcares.com there is actsupport.com.

Hi,
If people are interested in such a service, I can look into setting one up.
What would you pay for the service? I assume payment would be per a support ticket.

you couldnt offer it in the UK at a price people would pay and expect to survive....
its ok with bobcares cause its a sweat shop with people earning 2k / year......
If you are thinking of something like this, make sure you do it / hour rather than / ticket....i've solved tickets before that have taken hours / days to resolve!!
Cheers,

Hi,
To outsource is going to cost you at least 13+ grand per seat. Professional companies offering this type of service would charge around 10 million for a 650 seat center. That includes everything except outbound call charges. System and product training would take about 3 weeks I guess.
Cheers
Gareth

I just spent the best part of 3 days tracking down a mail relaying problem, only affected aol dila-ups and *evenntually* required a bit of tweaking to a sendmail.cf file [not the simplest thing to get to grips with]
So if someone had offered to do that for me for £25 I'd have jumped at it
An idea I had *ages* ago was to get a few hosts together, get an office @ or near Redbus, get a couple of techsupport staff and share the costs, based on number of jobs from each "part-owner" of the support business.
Never got around to drafting up the docs .... maybe in a few weeks on a becah somewhere ,...

Hi,
Sounds a good idea, you just need to find people willing to commute
OT: http://www.valueregistrations.co.uk/
- Nominet are clamping down on use of their logo, you'd better get the official Nominet Memebers logo before they find out and start wagging their legal finger at you like they did to us
- You're not really an ICANN registrar are you? If not, putting their logo saying that you are on your site is liable and your companies insurer will have fits if they found out.

My logo doesn't say icann acreddited it just says icann and a tick
Actually it's going to be replaced with either the opensrs logo or enom etp v shortly just some otehr tasks to finsih first
Nominet have seen the logo, and didn't comment, they came and checked out the t&c's as part of an ongoing project with tag holders, turns out i was showing the older t&c's , now updated and rechecked by them ... so we get the Nominet thumbs up.
*STILL* waiting to hear from them on the whois changes for multi-tags they've been promising for months ....

Outsourcing
Howdy,
Just joined the forum, and noticed this thread. I know that there is a colaboration between a few web hosts going on, and that a call centre has been created. New technology, quite state of the art judging from the pics ive seen. I beleive they are planning on offering outsourced web hosting customer service. If anybody is interested, post back or let me know via email, and ill send the relevant info.
