ClientExec for Billing Management?
Hi All,
Anyone care to share any good or bad experiences with ClientExec? It seems to provide most of the functions we want with out the complexity and bugs of the current build of Modernbill 5 that we are using.
Anyone found out if it performs well and reliably when used with a large number of clients?
Thanks for any and all comments

I use ClientExec on a day to day basis, and must say it works brilliantly.
I do use it through LicenseHut, better pricing for licenses in the UK rather than ClientExec direct.
Top notch piece of software

Many thanks for the info, I started installing ClientExec today and I'm already impressed, it's just so much more strait forward to use than Modernbill 5 for both us and our clients and considerably cheaper too! And no bugs to be found – so far…

Yeah, i've used it on many projects in the past, meant to be setting up a new copy of it today, but externally hosted to avoid disruption when there is network downtime for instance.

Just finished setting mine up, been doing it in stages but it now works as should.
One thing that does wind me up a little, is that some people on the system are relatives, as such i don't want to charge them, but ClientExec still tries to invoice them for £0.00 which i found rather strange.

Yup, clientexec is a very nice piece of software, powerful features yet easy to use. As a clientexec user I've been using it for around 2 years now & not once have I had any problems.
Also, a new version is out soon which is promised to be brilliant.

We have been using CE and have always found it to be a good billing software.
One thing I would have liked is that email notifications were sent by CE when invoices are generated or paid..
I had found similar thing in modernbill.

email notifications are sent by cron when invoices are generated - however it ownt tell you which ones unless you login :-)
Payment receipts can be enabled in admin > settings Note this will also bcc you when invoices are sent out

I've been using CE for a while now and I must admit, its quite nice software to work with, a lot less complicated then Modernbill and a lot less demanding on your web servers too
The couple of bugs I've found have been quickly fixed when I’ve mentioned them on ce-talk!
