Hi, I have been asked by a client to develop a website which has a similar functionality to a dating website such as match.com. Does anyone have any recommendations on dating website software or scripts and hosting options that are available? If possible, the software should be able to integrate as W3C compliantly as is possible. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
I seem to recall seeing some sort of dating script @ superscripts.com. Never used it but other scripts of theirs work well, but IIRC the support/attitude leaves something to be desired.
One of my clients is using osDate on several of his sites and as far as I know is very happy with it. Seems to have some nice features and can be easily skinned I believe.

Do any of these allow you to automatically scan entered profile data or messages for certain keywords, email addresses and phone numbers? Would be a pain to have verify manually each profile to ensure it doesn't contain a phone number or email address (including ones with spaces or other separators to try and fool any searching algorithm).

It wouldn't be too hard to write a few regular expressions to either strip this on display or when saving to the db. However, there will always be around it - posting numbers in an image for example etc... If your determined to strip this data, the only way to achieve 100% accuracy is a manual check.

I saw those WhiteLabelDating guys at Internet World too. Do you really think it's possible to make an average of £3,000 a month from a reseller site in such a crowded market like online dating?
