What a usefull update, I think most customers probably noticed that everything was broken
A little bit of detail as to what's broken and what they're doing might be nice..

Your not wrong there! Their customer service also told me they had "contingency plans" in place if there was problems ..... having serious doubts about that now. The whole thing has a distinctly amateurish feel about it.

We did the migration from down South (BlueSquare) to Node4 a year ago and managed to do it with no significant down time for our clients...
I know things can go wrong, but if they really do have contingency plans then surely they should have activated then by now...

Maybe their contingency plans were to just take the stuff back where it came from? Not something you'd want to do in a hurry

Well we've been down 13 hours and counting ..... thats 6 hours over what Daily promised .... i'm b*****y furious with them quite frankly. They made no attempt to make it as seemless as possible as my initial posts show, they just wanted to "negate the cost of the additional administrator" that would have been occured by running two centres up until they were ready to switch over because apparently that was too expensive.

I'd bet its going to cost them a lot more money now in lost customers and it serves them right. I have 15 months of my service to run but I'm now looking for an alternative as I'm just not going to put up with this rubbish - I'll no doubt lose what I've paid them but I'm more worried about my site.

I laughed when I read your post .... but you know, I@m actually wondering if thats what they are going to do. I asked their customer services and they ignored me.

If their customer service guys are their techs then they're probably a little bit busy

When we moved, we took the opportunity to upgrade our equipment so all we had to do was turn the old stuff back on if there was a problem - no actual physical moving of equipment required until we had confirmed eveything was up and running.
Not ideal if you are trying to do everything as heap a possible of course

Even with the disruption caused by this to people, they will make up for the few customers that leave in next month's magazine adverts.

Thats as maybe .... but they'll only hold on to a good few until subscription time and they haven't done their reputation any favours. I firmly beleive that what goes around comes around in business.

Just had a response from their Technical lot ..... despite posting that everything is up on their status page they have just admitted that it isn't.

So can anybody recommend a good hosting service and give me some idea how long it would take to transfer host and move my domains?

Lol, we've just had a chap move over too. He can't transfer his .com domain as they can't release it and he was adamant they also had his .co.uk domain - he was right - they did until they didn't bother renewing it six months ago - one .co.uk domain setup and apart from the obvious pain with the marketing material and such and still issues recovering the .com he is slightly less miffed...

Seems like Daily are making something of a meal of this tbh..

You would be better off posting in the requests section with exactly what you require.
