Help Broadband needed

Hi, i am in search for a broadband supplier. I was in the past with ntl (for over 4 years) and last month i moved house in an area which unfortunately has no cable support. I started looking for adsl offer and availability checks showed that i could have broadband upto 8mbit (according to Bulldog). so i placed an order with them, After 3 weeks waiting i received an email that my area can not support that speeds and my order was cancelled. I still haven't received my 60pounds for the installation of a new telephone line that they took from my bank account. (btw they had informed me and verified over 4 times on the phone that my area is supported for broadband before i placed the order. One of the sales personal even said that "i can assure you, that we can offer you our services....." Well that went to h*ll.
Well whats next? Last week i activated the telephone line that is in the house and i was happily informed by BT that i can have adsl installed on my house. Hurray!!!
Searched the net a bit and i found Demon to be an interesting choice with a service upto 2Mbit in my new verified by BT telephone line. So i place an order with them on Monday evening and happily i receive all emails and hardware by yesterday. Even an email that the initial tests are ok. Today friday i received an email from Demon that my order has been cancelled as the BT exchange has inadequate capacity or quality of the line is insufficient. At this point i want to note that BT web site for availability on ADSL shows upto 1Mbit and that Demon lists on their site that if the service that i order is not able to be supported by my line, the next best speed will be used, in this case 1Mbit or even 500k.
Well the email i received today and the chat i had with Demon customer services note that BT informed them that my line is ...either too far from exchange or quality of cabling or something.
So now i have ended up with no internet yet, -60 pounds from bulldog, -25 from Demon and still waiting to talk to customer services with both on monday.

I wanted to ask you if anyone knows any alternative solution to install broadband in my house as i desperately require it and my temper is .....
Before i placed the order with demon and bt i was 50% 50% with another service, business adsl from BT with business telephone line rental 13.50 a month, and the adsl bossiness 34.99 a month with no limits.
Dunno if this would be though able to be installed either as my luck is seriously low.
Can anyway suggest anything for me to install a cheap broadband service? (atleast 1Mbit/256 and 24/7, with no limits, or 1Mbit/1Mbit).
I cant pay more than around 50 a month in total as then it starts to get redicilous.
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.
PS: sorry for the lenght of this and if my language is in any way bad or offensive but i think you can undestand my frustration.

bye

Thanks for replying to my post. I sended you an PM with the details
I wake up today and though if there is a wdsl provider in my area but i havent really found anything yet. I live in Cardiff, Cathays and the isp here are a bit limited.
I also noticed that some companies offer bonded dsl which can result to quite high speeds. The only problem is that still i havent been refunded, and that i dont know where to start/continue with all this.
Any help would be really appreciated.
PS: I know that a lot of people are in favour of Bulldog, but my experience with them and their horrible customer service department is not something anyone would want to handle. Anyways Demon seemed nice but BT is the firestarter with this....

thats it for now.
byezz

I was thinking of going with Bulldog as well but when i saw F2S started doing 8mb using a BT Line and faster upstream then bulldog i signed up

And heres the email i have sent them yesterday

Quote:
I joined F2S on the 13 July 2005 13:24 and applied for your 8mb uncapped service, 9 days after this date I phoned up to see where the order status was and was told that the 8mb service was facing delays and the operator I was speaking to gave me 2 options , one I was to wait up to 14 days for internet at 8mb speed or two, to join up to 2mb service at the moment and wait 7 days then I will be joined back at 8mb in due time. Either of these options where worst case scenarios due to me moving into a new house with 3 people and needing access to an internet connection for my job . I dealt with a sales advisor called Steven and asked for a free dial up connection while I waited for this 2mb ADSL to activate which I was granted. Throughout all of this I must have spent about an thirty minutes on my mobile phone to your 0870 support number. My ADSL connection has been activated tonight at 2mb speed
Hopefully this will be sorted out back to 8mb soon but i have heard from other people that there having probs with 8mb services as well

My advice is phone up customer service of bulldog and demon and be strict about getting your money back if they have said that it was available in your area as thats sort of a verbal contract which there breaking , however on the other hand read terms and conditions becuase they keep money after line inspection!

thanks all for the help up till now but i think am doomed for the next days.
I also wanted to ask if anyone knows if a business telephone line with a businnes adsl would differ from the situation that they dont have any capacity in my exchange.
Dunno what to do. I am waiting till monday and hope to hear some good news from demon even for the 512k. but am still looking.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know, and if u know any number, email, site, group or something that i can complain and request that bt installs more support for users in cardiff areas please let me know.
Also one last thing, is there a wdsl service in uk ? cardiff-cathays area???
thanx ppl.
