NTL Broadband query

I emailed NTL to ask if I could get TV input to my computer down the broadband cable. I do have NTL digital TV in a seperate room, from another cable. Of course with their total lack of after sales service, I got no reply, and gave up on the phone after many frustrating hours of trying. Does anyone know if its possible 1) to get TV 2) to contact NTL to set it up. i.e is there any form of communication from which to get a reply. Tel, email, fax, pigeon, loudhailer, prayer?

You can get an analogue signal on the cable with the terrestrial channels on (well you can on mine), how long this will remain for I don't know, there's been mention that they'll drop the FM feed over the cable soon.

As for a digital decoder, then I suspect not without getting another NTL decoder as they won't connect anything they don't supply to the cable system.

To setup, then you can get a splitter from somewhere like Maplin, they should also do the F-type connectors / cable. If you don't already have a TV input, then cards are quite cheap these days.

Emailing ntl wont get you anywhere with them,

Either dial 150 from your ntl phone or you can do a crafty is ring the installation side up and asked to be transfered to where you wanna go, I have thier number if you want it Just send me a pm and i'll pass it to you,

I watch tv via my computer but i use a tv card because i like to do 2 things at once

Might be worth bunging a TV directly onto the cable first before buying too much just in case

We have a whole range of splitters on our cable as I was able to talk nicely to the guy who came to fix our installation issues when we upgraded to digital. I have an external splitter to run the cable to the office for the network router, then internally we have a splitter for the digital TV, then another to provide both analogue and FM hookup.

If you have digital TV don't be tempted to use traditional cheap TV "Y" splitters from Dixons as this may b*gger up your digital box as we found out when the 1st digital upgrader didn't bother replacing the old cabling.

I have an old PC in in the office in bits slowly being built as a PVR, so may well bung another splitter in the office to provide a direct feed to it, so I'd be interested in your results.

ntl

Thanks to both. Have noted the number, and will try fixing up TV through broadband initially.

Jamie, the number you gave me no longer works. A recorded voice refers to a customer service number, but thanks anyway.
