Can someone advise on best way of generating decent sitemaps for inclusion on Google?

I used their suggested python tool and it seemed to do the job fine for me.

The python tool works fine for me too, I just feed it the logs and out pops the file for sitemap

I have tried python and it isn't easy for non-techies but as long as you have basic scripting ability you ought to be fine

You don't need to know how python works to use the pre made script google offers...

depends what sort of system you are currently using, on my own cms system the sitemap is automatically generated.
