Which Distro

Whilst pottering around with an old homebuilt pc; I tried a couple of Linux distros;

Initially I always opt for Fedora however the base install didn't have the ndiswrapper available for the Netgear WG111T wireless card; cheers Netgear for having the worst driver support BTW (SC101 and Vista for example)

Quick bit of googling said Mandriva (silly name, why change from Mandrake) had it prebuilt so I gave that a shot.

I couldn't tell the difference TBH; perhaps thats the point of Gnome?? but at least with Mandriva the wireless worked ok; i couldn't compile ndiswrapper on fedora; don't ask me why!!

Have you tried Ubuntu? It's a very popular choice for a desktop distro.

ARGH SC101 is like pulling teeth. Had one of these a while ago, and my god, it was awful! Really disappointed
