Friend said this was due out today??

Since i've not got a 360 I have no idea; I used to have one and really I don't get on with 1st person shooters on anything other than a PC

He said the option was greyed out; I thought he was going to cry!!!

Has it been released now, perhaps thats why my connection has slowed down; too many LPB and HPB on the line

Was indeed due out on the 16th. However, major problems rolling out out have forced M$/Bungie into issuing an 'update' to the beta. It is anticipated that with so many people trying to connect to the servers, it may take up to four hours to download this patch (!)

The Halo 3 MP Beta-test is only available to those who purchase Crackdown just after release and registered for the H3 Beta Programme, as well as a few lucky parties through a lucky-dip system.

I downloaded it yesterday with no problems and the patch took about 10 seconds to download.
