I found the fire before I even saw the frozen corridoor, but then I did my best to explore everywhere and find all the audio diaries etc.. I'm not ashamed to say I completed it on the weekend of it's release :P

(playing on pc though; complicated/fps games on console controller ftl)

I would get it for the PC, but the DRM stuff has really put me off. I've got games on here I've reinstalled well over 5 times since I bought them as I moved from machine to machine - if they all took this '5 installs only' DRM approach I'd have had to buy gta and quake 2 three times by now, half life twice. If it's a good game it deserves my money, but I'll want to play it again.

Saying that you can de-register your version is both impractical and sets a dangerous precedent - hard drive failures (for example) mean you can't de-register those machines, and if this were to catch on, when I need to reinstall I would have to go through the machine de-registering hundreds of games and application. And the recent google videos debacle shows what can go wrong when you buy a product that phones home to check whether you're allowed to use it.

I know and understand that content producers feel the need to protect their product, but DRM only punishes the good people who play by the rules - the very first thing to go in a hacked or pirated version will be all of this DRM crap. When will content producers realise that if you want somebody to buy rather than pirate, you have to provide something that's *better* than the pirated version, not crippled and riddled with crap-ware so that your legally purchased version refuses to work on your machine and you're forced to crack it or go get a pirate copy?

Next time, maybe they just won't bother buying the products and will go straight to the pirate version. And what about the 'buy, play and sell on' crowd - surely they're only going to hurt sales with this approach? Piracy is and always will be a fact of life for digital content - accept it and move on.

Grr, and now I'm angry! Knew I shouldn't have clicked this thread
