Wireless Media Player? or ?

I am looking for a way of adding the ability to play mp3 through a standard hifi with phono aux inputs, I have a laptop but would rather it wasn't hosting the files.

In its simplest form perhaps I just need an Ipod style player with a dock? but I would like a remote control?

or perhaps a NAS with a Wireless Media Player.

The 2nd option does let me transfer files easier, but perhaps I'm just being a tad lazy?

Anyone know of a good "reasonable priced" MP3 player/dock/remote unit or a nas/wmp combo?

Hello Richard,

Assuming you have a wireless network, netgear make a box where you can stream mp3's from a location (be it internet or a server within your network) to your hi-fi setup.

The box is about the same size as a freeview box, has a remote control and phono out to your amp (ie, stereo). It has an LCD display to select your music and a remote to control it.

You can dump wma's, mp3's, wav's.etc .etc .etc into the database for it to stream - which has a GUI that sits on your taskbar.

Streams via either internet / wifi and supports WPA/ DHCP.etc .etc .etc

I've had one for about 2 years now and cost me £40. got it connected into my bose system and it sounds great.
